A Beautiful Day

I cannot stop listening to this beautiful song! Actually, I loved everything I've heard from this girl so far. But has anyone else noticed how everything is popping up werewolves lately? I guess the world has moved on to Team Jacob or something .

So apparently the rotation of the earth or something means there's a new zodiac sign? And according to that my sign has changed from Leo to Cancer. For some reason, that really, really upsets me. I'm a Leo, darnit! Some silly earth rotation can't change that! :P

That said, the new sign is pretty neat-o. Apparently it's always been there, just not generally recognized. The constellation of Ophiucus is a man battling a snake, and the name means "serpent bearer". Its symbol is the same as the medical rod/snake symbol, and it represents healers, since Ophiucus was the son of Apollo?

I dunno. Whether it's tue or not, I dont really care: I just love astrology.

Why is there even a Hollister if there is an Abercrombie and Fitch? Especially when they are right next to each other in the mall. Does anyone actually walk the ten feet to buy the exact same piece of clothing, just with a bird on it instead of a moose?

I mean, except for me.

On a completely different note, are there books you own more than one copy of? I now own two copies of The Secret Garden and possibly three of The Prisoner of Azkaban. Sometimes I wonder if the books I read in adulthood will ever mean as much to me as the ones I read as a child.

A lovely quote from Dan Savage:

"[...] but I'm an American, and we don't let ignorance stop us from forming opinions."

Also, I saw the new Harry Potter movie this weekend and it was totally awesome. Haven't read the 7th book, so I don't know how they compare, but I didn't hear any complaints from the friend I went with that had.

Dear Spanish Poets,

After two weeks of reading your repertoire, as it were, there are two things I just don't want to hear about anymore:

1. Jesus

2. Your love life

And Santa Teresa de la Cruz? Don't combine the two, that's just creepy.

Love,
Me

Scary movies can be humorous, even when it's unintentional - what are the funniest scary movie moments of all time?

When my sister and I were very young (five and six years old, probably) my father rented the movie Day of the Triffids. My parents were worried we'd be frightened by it, but let us watch it any way, and let me tell you, neither of us had ANY idea what was going on during pretty much 90% of the film, but we thought that thing was HILARIOUS. Apparently Man Eating Plants! and Spine Chilling Terror! are the way to a toddler's heart.

Anyway, what I meant to actually say here is that my NANOWRIMO profile is here, if you would like to friend me or whatever it is one does over there:

I got distracted by the LJ question because the story I'm doing for it is Horror/Supernatural. I'm not sure if anyone remembers her, but my character from Spilt Milk, Mariette, is making another appearance in it, because she was too cute to waste.

I like this picture because of the shirt in the righthand corner. It's Halloween laundry. :)
